RAZ是目前市面上最為流行的英文分級閱讀讀物，它的全稱是“Reading A-Z”。RAZ在美國有1萬多所公立學校正在配合教學使用，布置在孩子每天的作業中，中國大部分的國際學校也都是RAZ的忠實用戶。

RAZ起源于美國、加拿大等發達國家，在香港、臺灣地區發展了十幾年，是綜合考慮孩子的英文水平、心智發育程度、興趣愛好等要素，為不同英文水平的孩子提供不同難度的英文讀物。它旨在幫助孩子找到適合孩子水平的級別，通過在同一級別下的大量閱讀逐步提高孩子的閱讀能力。

RAZ本身有著非常嚴密的分級體系：根據全文詞匯數、高頻詞詞匯數與比例、低頻詞詞匯數與比例、句子長度、句子復雜度、句式、插圖信息量、思想深度、主題等多個角度，將整個閱讀體系分為aa，A-Z共27個級別。

G級別的繪本難度對應美國小學一年級，建議國內8歲以上孩子學習，句子長度增加，詞匯量也相應增加。

繪本簡介：

小熊總是喜歡跟別人打賭，他跟其他動物打賭他能跳過河，能跳過高墻，能在繩索上擺動，但都失敗了，最后他打賭在洞里睡一整個冬天，他做到了嗎?

繪本內容翻譯：

"I bet I can jump over the river," said the bear.

“我打賭我能跳過這條河，”小熊說。

"I bet you can't," said the kangaroo.

“我打賭你不能，”袋鼠說。

So the bear ran to the river.

所以熊跑向了河。

He jumped.SPLASH, went the bear.

他跳了。水花濺向了熊。

He did not jump over the river.

他沒有跳過河。

"I bet I can jump over that tall wall." said the bear.

“我打賭我能跳過那個高墻。”熊說。

"I bet you can't," said the goat.

“我打賭你不能。”山羊說。

So the bear ran toward the tall wall.

所以熊向高墻跑去。

He jumped.SPLAT, went the bear.

他跳了。熊發出“啪嗒”。

He did not jump over the tall wall.

他沒有跳過那個高墻。

"I bet I can swing on the rope," said the bear.

“我打賭我能在繩索上擺動。”熊說。

"I bet you can't," said the fox.

“我打賭你不能。”狐貍說。

So the bear grabbed the rope, ran, and jumped.

所以那只熊抓住了繩子，跑、跳。

SNAP, went the rope.

繩子發出了“啪嗒聲”。

Down went the bear.

熊倒下了。

He did not swing on the rope.

他沒有在繩索上擺動。

"I bet I can sleep all winter," said the bear.

“我打賭我能整個冬天都睡覺。”熊說。

"I bet you can't," said the hawk.

“我打賭你不能。”鷹說。

So the bear went into a cave.

所以那只熊進了一個山洞。

He curled up into a big ball.

他卷成了一個大球。

ZZZZZZZZZZZ, went the bear.

他睡著了。

And he did sleep all winter.

他睡了一整個冬天。
