繪本簡介：

這個繪本故事非常生動，描述了不同動物因為以為怪物來了的各種夸張的反應。其中出現了6種昆蟲和動物(bug, inchworm, toad, mouse, rabbit, fox)，每種動物在聽到monster要來的時候，分別用了不同的動作藏起來(inch, leap, scamper, hop, dive, fly)，藏起來之后，每種動物的某個身體部位卻又漏出來了(bottom, head, tail, ears)，使得下一個動物看到自己，非常有意思。

繪本內容翻譯：

“I’m hungry, ”said Baby Bug.

“我餓了?！毙★w蟲說道。

Mama Bug smiled and gave Baby Bug a leaf.

飛蟲媽媽笑了笑，給了飛蟲寶寶一片葉子。

“You eat like a monster, ”she said.

“你吃起來像一個怪獸, ”她說道。

Inchworm heard Mama Bug say monster,So he cried ,“Monster! Inch for your lives!”

毛毛蟲聽到了飛蟲媽媽說到了怪物，所以他大聲哭喊著，“有怪物! 快逃命啊”

Inchworm tried to hide,But his bottom stuck out.

毛毛蟲試著躲起來，但是他的尾巴露在了外面。

When Toad hopped by,He said, “Inchworm, is that you?”

正在這時一只小蛤蟆蹦蹦跳跳走過來，他問到：“毛毛蟲，是你么?”

Inchworm said,“Shhh! I’m hiding! A monster is coming!”

毛毛蟲說道：“噓! 我在藏著呢! 怪獸要來了!”

“Oh no!”said Toad.

“噢 不!”小蛤蟆說道。

“A horrible monster? Leap for your lives!”Toad tried to hide,too,But his head stuck out.

“一只可怕的怪獸?快逃命啊”小蛤蟆也試著藏起來，但是他的頭露在了外面。

Mouse ran by with a mouthful of seeds.

小老鼠嘴里塞滿了種子跑了過來。

She said,“Toad, what are you doing?”

她說道：“小蛤蟆，你在做什么呢?”

“I’m hiding from a horrible monster!”said Toad.

小蛤蟆說道：“我在躲避一只可怕的怪獸呢!”

“Oh my !”said Mouse.

“噢， 天哪!”小老鼠喊道。

“A hairy , horrible monster?Scamper for your lives!”

“一只毛發濃密的，可怕的怪物?快逃命啊!”

Mouse tried to hide,too,But her tail stuck out.

小老鼠也想藏起來，但是她的尾巴露了出來。

Rabbit tripped on Mouse’s tail.

小兔子被小老鼠的尾巴絆倒了。

“Oops! Mouse, what is wrong?”said Rabbit.

“哎呦! 小老鼠， 你怎么了?”小兔子說道。

Mouse said,”It is awful, Rabbit!

小老鼠說道，“糟糕了，小兔子!

A hairy, horrible monster is coming!”

一只毛發濃密的，可怕的怪物要來了!”

Rabbit said,“Oh my goodness!A huge, hairy, horrible monster?Hop for your lives!”

小兔子說道，“噢 我的天哪!一只巨大的，毛發濃密的，可怕的怪物?快逃命啊!”

Poor Rabbit tried to hide,But his ears stuck out.

可憐的小兔子也試著藏起來，但是他的耳朵露在了外面。

Fox said, “what is going on around here?Why is everyone hiding?”

小狐貍說道：“發生了什么?為什么每個人都要藏起起來呢?”

Rabbit said,“Fox, don’t you know?A huge, hairy, horrible monster is coming!”

小兔子說道：“小狐貍，你不知道么?一只巨大的，毛發濃密的，可怕的怪物要來了!”

“Help me!”yelped Fox.

“救命啊!”小狐貍喊道。

“A hungry, huge, hairy, horrible monster is coming!”

“一只饑餓的，巨大的，毛發濃密的，可怕的怪物要來了!”

And he dived in a hole.

說著，小狐貍鉆進了一個洞里面。

Baby Bug was chewing a leaf.

飛蟲寶寶正在咀嚼樹葉。

She said,”hey! Why is everyone hiding?”

她說道：“嘿! 為什么大家都藏起來了呢?”

“A monster is coming!”said Fox and RabbitAnd Mouse and Toad and Inchworm.“Fly for your life!”

“怪物要來了!”小狐貍，小兔子，小老鼠，小蛤蟆還有毛毛蟲一起說道：“快逃命吧!”

Baby Bug looked this way and that.

飛蟲寶寶看了看這邊，看了看那邊。

She said, “I don’t see a monster, but I’m so hungry I could eat a monster.”

她說道：“我沒有看見怪物啊，但是我好餓，都可以吃掉一只怪物了?！?

Inchworm heard Baby Bug say eat a monster.

毛毛蟲聽見小飛蟲說“吃掉一只怪物”。

He shouted, “Have you heard?Baby Bug ate the monster!”

他喊道：“你們聽見了么?飛蟲寶寶要吃掉怪物!”

“Hooray for Baby Bug!”everyone cried.

所有人都高喊著：“飛蟲寶寶萬歲!”

Baby Bug was glad she was a hero.

飛蟲寶寶很高興自己是個英雄。

But talk about eating always made her hungry.

但是一說到吃，總會讓她很餓。

Mama Bug smiled and gave Baby Bug another leaf.

飛蟲媽媽笑了笑，又給了飛蟲寶寶一片葉子。
