今天要給小寶貝們講一個哈伯德老太太和她的小狗的故事。

哈伯德老太太家里很窮，她和一只小狗相依為命。一天，哈伯德老太太牽著小狗去肉鋪。就在付款時發現沒有帶錢。他們非常沮喪，正準備回家，這時發生了一件讓人驚喜的事情。到底發什么了什么呢?

繪本內容翻譯：

Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard, to fetch her poor doggie a bone.

哈伯德大媽走到碗柜旁，想拿骨頭給她可憐的狗狗吃。

But when she got there, the cupboard was bare.

但她發現碗柜里空空的，什么都沒有。

And so the poor doggie had none.

所以可憐的狗狗什么都沒吃到。

Old Mother Hubbard shut up the cupboard and put on her warm winter clothes.

哈伯德大媽關上碗櫥，穿上暖和的冬衣，對小狗Spot說道：

“We’ll have to go out,” she said with a shout, “before all the butchers are closed.”

“我們得在所有肉鋪關門前出去一趟。”

So off down the lane, through wind and through rain, went Old Mother Hubbard and Spot.

于是哈伯德大媽沿著街道，冒著風雨，牽著狗狗Spot向商店走去。

Till they came to a stop, at Bob’s Butcher’s Shop.

后來他們在Bob的肉鋪停下來了。

And they went in to see what was what.

她們走進店里看看里面都有什么。

There was plenty of meat, for a doggie-sized treat, but the old lady picked out a bone.

里面有很多專門為狗狗準備的肉，但是哈伯德大媽只挑了一根骨頭。

Then came the snag, when she looked in her bag.

她打開錢包時出了個小意外。

She had left all her money at home.

原來她把所有錢都落在家里了。

The pair stepped outside.

她們只能沮喪地離開商店。

“Stop thief!” came Bob’s cry.

這時突然傳來Bob的哭喊聲：“別跑，小偷!”

And a man hurried by in a flash.

與此同時有個男人急匆匆跑過來。

He ran with such speed, he tripped on Spot’s lead.

小偷跑得實在太快，后來被牽Spot的繩子絆倒。

And went flying, along with the cash.

他一下子飛了出去，偷來的錢也撒了一地。

“Your dog stopped that thief,” said Bob with thief.

Bob 激動地說道：“你的狗幫我抓住了小偷。”

“So I must reward you, my dear.”

“所以親愛的，我必須要好好報答你。”

Now Old Mother Hubbard has a very full cupboard.

現在哈伯德大媽的碗櫥堆滿了各種食物。

And her doggie has best steak all year.

她的狗狗Spot一整年都有吃不完的最好的牛排。
