Brer [brε?]Fox is always thinking of ways to catch Brer Rabbit['r?b?t].

狐貍Brer總是想盡各種辦法要抓到兔子Brer。

Brer Rabbit is always thinking of ways to not get caught!

兔子Brer總是想盡各種辦法不被狐貍抓到。

Today Brer Fox mixes up some mighty sticky stuff.

今天狐貍Brer混合了一堆強力粘合劑。

This time he is sure Brer Rabbit won’t get away!

這次他斷定兔子Brer肯定跑不了了。

He fixes up something that like a boy.

他修補了一個看起來像小男孩的娃娃。

He puts it down on the road by the brier patch.

他把它放在了野薔薇叢旁的小路上。

Then he jumps into the bushes and waits.

然后他跳進了灌木叢，等待著。

By and by, Brer Rabbit comes along.

不一會兒，兔子Brer走了過來。

“Howdy, Mr. Boy!”he calls.“

你好啊， 男孩先生!”他說道。

“Nice day, isn’t it?”Mr.Boy doesn’t answer.

“天氣真好，不是么?”男孩先生沒有回答。

“Can’t you hear?”yells Brer Rabbit.“I said HOWDY!”

“你聽不到么?”兔子Brer喊道，“我說了你好!”

Mr. Boy doesn’t answer.

男孩先生還是沒有回答。

“Talk or I’ll bop you,“says Brer Rabbit.

“說話啊，不然我就要打你了。”兔子Brer說道。

Still no word from Mr.Boy.

但是男孩先生仍然是一言不發。

Brer Rabbit lets him have it.

于是兔子Brer讓它嘗嘗被打的滋味。

He bops him with both fists.

他用兩個拳頭攻擊它。

He kicks him with both feet.

他用兩只腳一起踢他。

Pretty soon Brer Rabbit is all stuck up.

不一會兒，兔子Brer整個身體都被黏住了。

Out comes Brer Fox!

這時狐貍Brer走了出來。

Brer Rabbit is stew meat, for sure.

兔子Brer現在是煮熟的肉了，毫無疑問。

“I am going to throw you in a pot and boil you,”Says Brer Fox.

“我現在要把你扔進鍋里，把你給煮了。”

“I don’t care,”says Brer Rabbit.

“我一點也不在乎。”兔子Brer說道。

“Just don’t throw me in that brier patch!”

“只是不要把我扔到那個薔薇叢里!”

Brer Fox is surprised.

狐貍Brer很吃驚。

Maybe it’s too hot to cook!

也許鍋里的水太熱了以至于不能煮熟!?

“Guess I’ll have to hang you,”says Brer Fox.

“猜一猜，我會不會把你吊死。”狐貍Brer說道。

“That’s fine with me,”says Brer Rabbit.

“好啊，我無所謂。”兔子Brer說道。

“Just don’t throw me in that brier patch!”

“只是不要把我扔到那個薔薇叢里!”

Brer Fox thinks again.

狐貍Brer又想了想。

Maybe hanging is a bad idea!

或許吊死不是個好主意!

“Then I’ll drown you,”says Brer Fox.

“那我就把你淹死。”狐貍Brer說道。

“Boil me, hang me, drown me, skin me,

“煮了我，吊死我，淹死我，把我的皮剝了都行，

But please, PLEASE don’t

但是，請不要，請不要

throw me in that brier patch!”

把我丟到那個薔薇叢里!”

Cries Brer Rabbit.

兔子Brer哭喊著說道。

“I know!”says Brer Fox.“

我知道了!”狐貍Brer說道：

“I’ll throw you in that brier patch!”

“我要把你扔到那個薔薇叢里!”

Brer Fox pulls Brer Rabbit free.

狐貍Brer把兔子Brer拉了起來。

Then he takes him and throw him right into the middle of the brier patch.

然后他帶著他，正好把他扔到了薔薇叢的中間。

Brer Fox begins to dance around.

狐貍Brer開始轉著圈跳起了舞。

Whoo-eee!

嗚~咦~!

Brer Rabbit is gone for good.

兔子Brer一去不復返了。

But wait what’s that

但是，等等!

On the other side of the brier patch?

薔薇叢的另一邊有什么?

It’s Brer Rabbit!

有兔子Brer!

“Yoo-hoo, Brer Fox,”he calls.

“呀吼~，狐貍Brer，”他喊道，

“Guess who loves the brier patch? Me!

“猜一猜誰喜歡薔薇叢啊?我呀!

This is the place where I was born!”

這正是我出生的地方啊!”

Brer Fox isn’t dancing anymore.

狐貍Brer不再跳舞了。

That Brer Rabbit has tricked him again.

那只兔子Brer又耍了他一次。

But just wait!

但是，等著!

Next time he will get him, for sure.

下一次他一定會抓到他，一定!
