In The Great Gallardo's Books, Miguel has to write an essay for homework explaining why reading is an adventure. Miguel doesn't like reading much and is uninspired by the topic until he finds a mysterious trunk in the loft of his mother's shop. The trunk is full of books that show Miguel how reading can be a real adventure.

RAZ有嚴(yán)密的分級體系：根據(jù)全文詞匯數(shù)、高頻詞詞匯數(shù)與比例、低頻詞詞匯數(shù)與比例、句子長度、句子復(fù)雜度、句式、插圖信息量、思想深度、主題等多個角度，將整個閱讀體系分為aa，A-Z共27個級別。

RAZ旨在幫助孩子找到適合孩子水平的級別，通過在同一級別下的大量閱讀逐步提高孩子的閱讀能力。

RAZ按難度分為27個級別，AA—C這4個級別對應(yīng)幼兒園階段; D—J這7個級別對應(yīng)美國小學(xué)一年級;K—P這6個級別對應(yīng)美國小學(xué)二年級;Q—T這4個級別對應(yīng)美國小學(xué)三年級;U—W這3個級別對應(yīng)美國小學(xué)四年級;X—Z對應(yīng)美國小學(xué)五六年級(相當(dāng)于國內(nèi)高中畢業(yè))。
