RAZ有嚴密的分級體系：根據(jù)全文詞匯數(shù)、高頻詞詞匯數(shù)與比例、低頻詞詞匯數(shù)與比例、句子長度、句子復(fù)雜度、句式、插圖信息量、思想深度、主題等多個角度，將整個閱讀體系分為aa，A-Z共27個級別。

RAZ旨在幫助孩子找到適合孩子水平的級別，通過在同一級別下的大量閱讀逐步提高孩子的閱讀能力。

RAZ按難度分為27個級別，AA—C這4個級別對應(yīng)幼兒園階段; D—J這7個級別對應(yīng)美國小學(xué)一年級;K—P這6個級別對應(yīng)美國小學(xué)二年級;Q—T這4個級別對應(yīng)美國小學(xué)三年級;U—W這3個級別對應(yīng)美國小學(xué)四年級;X—Z對應(yīng)美國小學(xué)五六年級(相當于國內(nèi)高中畢業(yè))。
