People often wear different colours to show how they are feeling, or for different celebrations. In China, people wear red for New Year, because it brings luck and a long life.

In Thailand, however, there is a different lucky colour for each day of the week.For

example, on Monday, the lucky colour is yellow, but on Tuesday it is pink. In India,

orange is a lucky colour,because it is the colour of fire.

Colours also have different meanings in different countries. In the UK, red can

mean love, anger and danger. However, in China red is the colour of happiness

and a long life, so Chinese women often wear red dresses when they get married. Instead, in the UK wedding dresses are usually white.
